Pots and garden beds brimming with herbs, vegetables and colour are a real feature in any garden or patio. Fertilising with Searles Fish & Kelp and Searles Flourish will ensure tasty herbs and vegetables and bright blooming flowers. Spring is also a great time to plant fruit trees. Warmer ground temperatures foster strong, healthy root production ensuring plants establish straight away. Choose from dwarf citrus, pineapple guavas, lychees, mulberries, olives and plenty more. Digging in Searles Real Compost and Searles 5 in 1 before planting will add essential nutrients to the soil and give the plant a real boost.

A lush, green lawn provides a wonderful backdrop to any garden and really completes the picture. Preparing the lawn in spring is very simple and you will enjoy the rewards of your labour throughout the warmer months. The first step is to aerate the lawn enabling water and nutrients to penetrate into the soil. You do not need specialist equipment and the trusty garden fork will suffice. Pushing the prongs into the soil to a depth of approximately 15 centimetres (5 inches) will provide adequate aeration. The next step is to top dress the lawn with a mix of 2 part soil and 1 part sand. Rake the topdressing to ensure even coverage. Fertilise with Terra Firma Grass Master and water in well. Now step back and watch the lawn grow. And remember, if weeds are a concern, lawn herbicides such as Searles Paspalum, Nutgrass and Clover Killer or Searles Lawn Perfect will ensure ease of control.
